General Tasks
1. What Are General Tasks
General Tasks are an intelligent task execution capability provided by Medo. Instead of building a complete application first, you can simply describe your needs in a conversational way, and Medo will automatically complete tasks such as content generation, data processing, document organization, image creation, and deep research.
Unlike traditional application building, General Tasks focus more on “getting things done directly.” Whether you want to generate a PPT, analyze an Excel file, extract webpage content, generate images, organize meeting notes, write articles, or produce research reports, Medo will automatically understand your goals and complete the task by combining skills, files, and contextual information.
Within General Tasks, you can either complete one-time tasks independently or continue processing and extending existing files and generated outputs. For example:
- Analyze sales data first, then generate a data report
- Organize research materials first, then generate a presentation PPT
- Extract webpage content and complete research analysis first, then generate a themed showcase application
General Tasks and application-building capabilities are fully connected. You can execute standalone tasks or perform various tasks while building websites, mini programs, or mobile apps, creating a complete workflow from requirements and research to content generation and final application delivery.
2. Supported Task Types
Medo supports multiple types of General Tasks. You can freely select a task type based on your needs or directly enter a request for Medo to automatically identify the task.
Typical task types on the homepage include:
3. Typical Use Cases
General Tasks support continuous multi-step workflows. You can continue building on existing task results to complete new tasks or further generate websites, mini programs, or mobile apps, enabling a complete workflow from content generation to application delivery.
For example:
You can also upload new files, add additional requirements, or continue generating based on existing outputs at any time during task execution.

4. How to Create General Tasks
Method 1: Directly Enter Requirements
You can directly type what you want to accomplish in the conversation box without selecting a task type or skill in advance. Medo will automatically identify the task goal and invoke the appropriate capabilities to complete the task.
Example:
Please generate a cyberpunk-style city night poster featuring neon lights, skyscrapers, and futuristic technology elements.

Method 2: Select a Task Type Before Entering Requirements
You can also click the task type tags below the input box to specify the type of task you want to execute before entering detailed requirements.
After selecting a task type:
- The placeholder text in the input box will change accordingly
- Recommended prompts at the bottom will switch to content related to the selected task
- Medo will prioritize invoking the corresponding skills for task execution
For example, after selecting “Data Analysis,” you can directly start the task and automatically enter analysis-related requirements.

Method 3: Execute Tasks with Skills
When executing tasks, you can also actively specify skills so that Medo can complete the task using the corresponding capabilities.
Type “@” in the conversation box to open the skill list, where you can manually select or directly search for skills. After selecting a skill, continue entering your requirements and send the message to invoke the skill.
The skill list displays both official skills and custom skills, with custom skills shown first for easier access.
Example:
Please help me extract popular product information from an e-commerce platform, use @Image Generation Omni (Kling) to generate promotional images, and finally organize everything into a marketing proposal PPT.

5. Task Execution Page
After sending a task, Medo will enter the Task Execution Page.
Compared with the application development page, the Task Execution Page is more focused on task execution itself, retaining only the most essential information and capabilities during execution.
The Task Execution Page mainly includes the following sections:

6. File and Output Management
In General Tasks, all uploaded content and generated outputs are automatically saved in the File Area for future use.
The File Area supports:
Currently supported preview file types include:
- Documents: doc, docx, pdf, txt, md
- Spreadsheets: xls, xlsx, csv
- Images: jpg, png, gif, webp, etc.
- Videos: mp4, mov, webm, etc.
- Audio: mp3, wav, etc.
For example:
- Generate a PPT based on a generated report
- Continue data analysis based on an uploaded Excel file
- Generate an article based on extracted webpage content

7. Share General Tasks
General Tasks support sharing both the execution process and generated results.
Click the “Share” button in the upper-right corner of the task page to generate a share link for the current task, allowing others to view the task execution process and generated results.
After sharing, the system will automatically generate a share link that you can send to others.

8. Tips
- When the task goal is clear, providing complete requirements in a single message usually leads to better results
- Uploading related files before describing requirements can help Medo better understand the task
- For complex tasks, it is recommended to combine tasks with skills
- Deep Mode is more suitable for complex analysis, research, and long-chain tasks, while Fast Mode is better for simple generation and quick processing
- You can continue creating and processing content at any time based on existing outputs
