ClickUp

ClickUp is a connector: it links a MeDo app to one ClickUp account, so the app can navigate workspaces, spaces, folders, and lists, browse tasks with filters, and create or update tasks. The app works with the lists the connected account can reach.

#What you can build

• A task dashboard. Choose a ClickUp list, filter tasks by status or assignee, and load additional pages when needed.
• A request intake form. Preview a task title, description, and priority before creating it in one selected list.
• A task follow-up page. Review and confirm changes to priority, status, or due date.
• A planning page. Group the returned tasks by assignee and keep additional planning notes in the app.

ClickUp fits when work is already tracked in ClickUp and the app should add a focused view, a structured intake, or a lighter interface for one team. It is not a reporting suite, see Limits.

#Prepare and connect

You need a ClickUp account that can already see the lists the app should use. No personal token or ClickUp app registration is involved.

1. Open Skills & Connectors in the sidebar and search for ClickUp.
2. Open the card and click Connect.
3. Sign in to ClickUp and approve the access MeDo asks for.
4. The button changes to Connected.

If you start building before connecting, MeDo shows a ClickUp connection button under its reply. You can connect there instead.

#Use it in your app

• The app uses your connected account, not each visitor's ClickUp login. Everyone who opens the task view sees the same workspaces and lists. Keep internal tasks and editing controls behind your app's own sign-in and limited to the intended people.
• Choose one list as the working set. Starting from a single list keeps the page fast and the filters meaningful. The app can still walk workspaces, spaces, and folders to let you pick.
• Task lists are pages, not totals. Ask for a bounded page, a load-more control, and filters that matter (status, assignee).
• Assignee IDs come from real data. Ask the app to read the assignees it actually sees rather than accepting typed names.
• Writes are confirmed first. MeDo previews a new task, or the exact field change, before saving.
• Triage notes belong to the app. Internal notes and follow-up status live in your app's tables, keyed to the real task.

#Limits and troubleshooting

"Connection required" appears in the app. Ask the app owner to open the connector card and click Connect, then reload.

A list is missing from the picker. Folderless lists and lists inside folders are both supported, but only lists the connected account can reach. Check access in ClickUp.

Status or assignee filters return nothing. Filter values have to match what the list actually uses. Ask the app to read the available statuses and assignees first.

A task was not updated. Writes do not retry automatically. Open the task in ClickUp, confirm what actually happened, and only then repeat the change.

Task counts look low. One page of results is not a total. Use the load-more control, or narrow the filters.
