Zoho CRM
Connect Zoho CRM to a MeDo app: list and search leads, contacts, accounts, and deals, read related records, and create or update reviewed records.
Zoho CRM is a connector: it links a MeDo app to one Zoho CRM account, so the app can read the account's modules and fields, list and search records such as leads, contacts, accounts, deals, and tasks, read related records, and create or update records. Custom modules work the same way as the standard ones.
What you can build
- A private lead dashboard. List leads with company, status, source, and owner, filter by status, and load more when needed.
- A lead intake form. Preview the name, company, email, and lead source before creating the lead in Zoho CRM.
- A deal pipeline board. Group deals by stage and review a stage change before the deal is updated.
- An account lookup page. Search accounts by name and show each account's contacts, open deals, and tasks.
Zoho CRM fits when customer records are already kept there and the app should add a focused view or a structured way in. It is not a full CRM client, see Limits.
Build examples
Copy one of these into the prompt box. The first one is the smallest useful starting point and only reads data.
Prepare and connect
You need a Zoho CRM account that can already see the records the app should use. No API token or Zoho app registration is involved. The connection has been verified with accounts on Zoho's US data center (zoho.com); accounts on other data centers have not been verified.
- Open Skills & Connectors in the sidebar and search for Zoho CRM.
- Open the card and click Connect.
- Sign in to Zoho and approve the access MeDo asks for.
- The button changes to Connected.
If you start building before connecting, MeDo shows a Zoho CRM connection button under its reply. You can connect there instead.
Use it in your app
- The app uses your connected account, not each visitor's own Zoho login. Everyone who opens a page sees the same CRM data. Keep CRM views behind your app's own sign-in and limited to the intended people.
- The app looks up your real structure first. Zoho CRM refers to modules and fields by API name (for example
LeadsandLast_Name), and which modules exist depends on your Zoho edition. The app reads them from your account instead of guessing. - Records come in pages. Each page holds up to 100 records. Ask for a clear way to load more, and avoid presenting one page as the whole CRM.
- Search needs one specific term. A search takes one keyword, email address, phone number, or field condition, and returns at most 2,000 matches in total.
- Related records are a separate step. The contacts, deals, and tasks of an account are read from that account's related lists.
- Writes are confirmed first. MeDo previews the record, or the exact field and new value, before saving. This covers creating leads and other records and updating them.
- Choose picklist values from the list. For fields such as deal stage or lead status, the app offers the values the field already has. Zoho CRM stores an unlisted value without complaint, so the app only writes values from the list.
- Internal notes belong to the app. Notes and follow-up state that Zoho CRM has no field for live in your app's tables, keyed to the real record.
Limits and troubleshooting
"Connection required" appears in the app. Ask the app owner to open the connector card and click Connect, then reload.
A module or field is not found. Zoho CRM uses API names, and modules depend on your edition and permissions. Ask the app to list the modules and fields first, then use the names it returns.
A save is rejected. A write that fails validation, such as a record missing a required field, is rejected as a whole and creates nothing. Fix the field and submit again.
A record was not created or updated. Writes do not retry automatically. Open the record in Zoho CRM, confirm what actually happened, and only then repeat the change.
Search results look incomplete. A search returns at most 2,000 matches. Use a more specific term or narrow the condition.
